Who is he? What is his role? He obviously is the founder, head animator and writer of Joey Drew Studios. But why did he summon Henry back? Do you think he's a cruel creator of his toons? Did he experiment on them? Is he insane? Trying to learn necromancy?
And, is he "Bendy"?

The creator of the cartoon, of course. Bendy, Boris, Alice, they're all derived from his mind. But I can't help but think he's a tad, deranged.

^ I kinda agree with you, though it's still not completely confirmed so there's a possibility that Henry came up with the idea. Maybe Joey stole that idea and that's why Henry left? id say his more of bendy dad. no? id put psychopath as somthing id call him, serial killer maybe. I get more of the feeling that Henry is "dad".

Joey Drew has to be rich cause because there no way you can have 9 levels in a studio without some serious moola.

Well probably yes. He probably had to first build the toy factory to bring in more money before expanding and the toys is like a huge second income with the show being the primary. It seemed as though that Bendy was really popular and for a long time\, otherwise he wouldn't of have his own toy company.

You're starting to read to much into things. The toy factory really doesn't mean much. It's just part of the studio popularity's history.A minor detail. A mere environment to explore around and solve puzzles in.
Joey's tape might refer to his own inneer thoughts. Maybe Joey is disabled and wants to walk again, so that's why we built the machine and it's possible to become a toon. Maybe he was sick with an illness that shortened his life and again, made the machine.
I don't think Joey resembles Walt Disney that much that theMeatly would have him make Bendy simply because "dreams can come true".

Judging by Drew's Audio Recording, he definitely sounds delusional and deranged, too.

i dont think he sounds delusional (certified sufferer of delusions here ), he sounds very optimistic and has his own view on life. to be honest he sounds like one of the most normal characters, in terms of their audio logs. most of the others seem to be losing their marbles (Wally's whole 'SMILE' tape is kinda creepy, and Norman's "I sees everything" is REAL creepy.) whereas Joey just sounds like a public speaker who also wants to cheat death for some reason or another. he has an ulterior motive. that is for sure. whether he created the studio to achieve this motive or if it came later on is a bit of a mystery at the moment though. EDIT: in addition, i'd argue his ulterior motive is NOT money or power. he needs them to achieve his ulterior motive, but i think it's also his "cover". he laughs at his own idea of cheating death, in the same manner someone would to cover up their true intent. it'd be easier for him to say "i started this studio to become rich and powerful" than "i started this studio so i could turn myself into an ink demon and become immortal"

You have a point with masking his intent, but I think he's talking out of desparation.

oh i definitely agree. i detailed it in my Joey theory thread, but i think his whole "cheating death" thing is huge evidence of a terminal illness of some kind. if we go with polio, its very likely he's been unable to recover and time is running out for him.
it becomes... really sad, if that's the case. im thankfully not terminal but i can empathise with the idea of being desperate for a 'cure' of any sort - i have an illness which is lifelong and incurable, so the theory is definitely personal to me and tugs at my heart strings a bit, haha.
i think we could do with another audio log or two from Joey. i wonder if you'll get more Joey logs in chapter 4/5 if you've chosen the demon route? maybe the Angel route only gives the outside perspective on Joey (that he's the devil incarnate), whereas the demon route tells it from his perspective (a potentially sympathetic story). maybe?

Well we can definitely say he is either disabled or terminally ill. I say he was wounded in the war and that's why he can't walk, has PTSD or shell shock as they would have called it back then, and created the ink machine to become Bendy so he can walk and escape the traumatic thoughts that haunt his mind.
And I think your on to something there with more Joey audios and path choosing.
