I'd prefer Wolfy, or you can just call me GW like you do on the SP forums.
Didn't try it yet. I have one Hell of a work schedule lately and I haven't been home in the evenings to have a home cooked meal for once.

Potato soup in a can still has milk. Probably would use dry milk.

Alright, I forgot to tell you this ... maybe more than a week or go, or something like that. I finally made it. I was right. All it is is Depression Soup (AKA potato soup) with bacon. Ingredients my mum used (and I added in my bowl = *): milk, potatoes, onions, bacon*, and salt*. It was delicious! It's exactly what it would be. I told mum about with with relation to the game. I knew mum made "Depression soup" because she had it as a child growing up on the farm and her mother obviously lived through the Great Depression. Potato soup became the "Depression soup" because it was commonly made during the 30s, which for those of you who don't know was the Great Depression era (roughly 1929 to 1939 for the world in general, and roughly 1929 to 1941-42 for the US). Potatoes and onions were cheap and easy to grow. Just adding the bacon makes it a luxury then.
Now, I know that Bendy takes place in the 30s, so America was in the Great Depression when the cartoon was animated. This also means "Depression soup" would be popular. It would make sense that the bacon soup seen in the game would be a "luxury" version of Depression soup. Depression soup was made with cheap ingredients since money was tight. However, to get some profit out of it all they did was add bacon to it. Why waste money on something that no one could afford? Basically just adding bacon was fancy enough and made it "expensive" enough during that era. Bacon alone back then was a luxury food. But having a little bit of it in the soup shouldn't make the cost of it go up too high. Basically it would try and make a can of bacon soup cheaper than a small package of bacon. Grant it, it still would be a luxury item because: 1) it contains bacon, and 2) it's a name brand because it's from a cartoon. But it it basically wasn't a form of depression soup then no one would buy it because it would be way too expensive, maybe even more that whatever the price of bacon was.
As for possibly military use, that same principals apply. Money was too tight to give the troops hearty meals. A depression soon is cheap to make and easy to grow the ingredients on semi permanent bases. Adding bacon would actually, again, be a luxury. If it's true that Joey and/or Henry in the Great War (WWI), then obviously they what try and made a healthier food at a affordable price so the troops can have a huge quantity of it and actually eat decently for once and help them get some protein in the diet by adding the bacon to depression soup.
So I highly doubt that it would be expensive looking at all those factors. It would be a simple, easy-to-make soup. The "Just the way the little devil likes it" is just the fact that there's bacon in depression soup. The ability to afford a luxury item.

Let me give you an example for just a few decades ago. I collect vynal records, and now I have a record player to play them. I was also given 45 RPM vynals (the really small records) that someone had for whenever they bought them which would be the 80s. Some of these records still have the price tag on them. The price for them was $1.50. That was considered expensive back then and that was the 80s. Gas was not even a dollar and that was expensive for that time. A good used vehicle was around $500 and that was really expensive then. That's like 30 years ago.
In the 30s, some people were lucky to just make a dollar or two a day. A DAY. Also, if you look at the posters in the game, it costs $1.50, so yes, that is really expensive. I keep emphasizing that this game takes place during the GREAT DEPRESSION. What probably makes the soup expensive is the fact that there's bacon in it. So that bacon soup is basically costs one days pay.
